A Dance Medicine Symposium Presented by Goucher College and MedChi

Sunday, October 22, 2006
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Todd Dance Studio at Goucher College

Goucher College Dance Department and the Performing Arts Medicine Committee of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, jointly present a program to educate physicians, dancers, and teachers in a wide range of topics important to those interested in dance and dance medicine. Topics are relevant to all forms of dance.

Nationally recognized physicians will present current information from the field of dance medicine at this daylong symposium. Workshops will be offered in alternative movement techniques, as well as a demonstration of current techniques used at the Goucher College annual screening. Participation is encouraged.

The keynote speaker, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, a former principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and an adjunct professor at Towson University, will address the challenges of a professional and personal life as a dancer.

All events will take place in the Todd Dance Studio of the Sports and Recreation Center at Goucher College, unless otherwise noted.
