Commuter Facilities

The Commons is located on the Forum level of the Athenaeum, just behind Alice's Restaurant.  The space features a microwave, fridge, computer lab, and phone.  The Commons provides a space for students to gather between classes to eat, socialize, and study.  Access is granted to all commuter students.  Students should swipe into the commons with their Goucher one card.  Commuters have 24 hour access, seven days a week during the academic session.

Storage lockers are also available for use in the Commons.  They provide a place for commuter students to keep books, food, clothes or a toothbrush while classes are in session.  The lockers are free and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Students must provide their own locks.

Access to Campus

The Front Gate (main) entrance, located on Dulaney Valley Road is open 24 hours a day.  When the College is in full academic session, security officers monitor all incoming vehicular traffic from 7:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.   All drivers must stop their vehicles and check in with the officer every time they enter campus.  The registration decals on community members’ cars are their passes onto campus.  You may call the Safety and Security Office at 410-337-6112 for access to nonresidential buildings after hours.  They will also provide an escort to any on-campus destinations during the hours of darkness.

Vehicle Registration Decals

Student vehicles must be registered by the end of the first week of classes at the Department of Safety and Security in Heubeck Hall.  A current Goucher College ID, driver’s license, and state motor vehicle registration card must be presented to register a vehicle.  There is a fee of $50 per year or $35 per semester for student vehicle registration.
