H1N1 Update for Goucher Faculty and Staff

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As of today, we have 11 students and two faculty members who have or have recently had flu-like symptoms, which we suspect to be the H1N1 virus.  In order for us to keep a handle on if/how the virus is spreading, we’re asking all faculty and staff to please contact your immediate supervisor or department chair if you have flu-like symptoms that prevent you from coming to work.  Supervisors and academic department chairs are asked to then report that information to Human Resources at dlupton@goucher.edu.  Also, remember that if an employee is out sick for three or more days in a row, he/she may be covered by the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Human Resources will contact eligible employees to discuss their rights and responsibilities under FMLA.
