Staff Assistants
Staff Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide lunch-hour office coverage to the Office of Student Engagement at least once a week.
- Participate in office coverage, including telephone and reception tasks, whenever in the office.
- Be knowledgable on event planning procedures and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Maintain high standards of customer service as a part of the position.
- Assist professional staff member with special projects, as needed.
- Provide clerical assistance, including but not limited to copying, filing, faxing, supply inventory and mailing preparation, etc., to the professional staff members within OSE.
- Maintain and update the web calendar for all student-run programs on a regular basis.
- Do rounds of the Pearlstone Student Center at least once a week to take down illegal postings and send communciation to those agencies regarding the posting regulations.
- Input information into the digital signage around campus to update the campus community about on-campus events at least twice a week.
- Post informational flyers on the bulletin boards within the campus buildings as needed.
- Assist in the creation of marketing efforts, including desktop publishing flyers for OSE-related programs and events as well as larger kiosk displays and advertising.
- Communicate ideas, opinions, and concerns in terms of campus programming and marketing to the Assistant Director for Leadership Development.
- Coordinate the assessment for the Summer Orientation program and other programs as directed.
- Working with other student employees to create a list of campus programs - both within OSE and outside - and market these programs to commuter students.
- Assist the Assistant Director for Programming as needed with commuter program event planning.
