Event Schedules
Thursday, April 24
5 p.m. | Torrey Dinner | HEU Multipurpose Room, 203A
The Torrey Dinner is an opportunity to recognize student achievements, reconnect with alumnae/i, and share the evening with friends of the Data, Mathematical, and Computational Sciences Department. All are welcome to attend. Graduates of the Computer Science, Data Science, Integrative Data Analytics, and Mathematics programs are especially invited to attend. This year’s speaker is Lev Iwashko ’04, who majored in computer science.
Ticket registration will close one week prior to the event. Tickets are free for current students, but registration is still required. Tickets for all other guests are $25 each and include dinner. Registration and ticket purchase is available now.

Reconnect with Goucher and give your prospective student a firsthand look at the Goucher experience! Join the 9:30 a.m. information session followed by a campus tour at 10:30 a.m., or attend the afternoon session at 12:30 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. campus tour. Please register for an in-person visit on the Goucher College website. If you are not bringing a prospective student but would like to attend, please email the Admissions Office at visits@goucher.edu.
8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. | Brewed Conversations With Student Leaders | Buchner
Enjoy a relaxed meet-up where student leaders and alumnae/i connect over a cup of coffee. This event is the perfect way to start your day, meet current students, and strengthen the Goucher community. Each table will feature a fishbowl filled with conversation starters to spark engaging discussions between alumnae/i and current students. There is no cost to attend this event, but preregistration is strongly encouraged. This event follows a drop-in format, allowing attendees to come and go at their convenience.
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. | Take a Class at Goucher! One Stroke of a Nail File: Visualizing Deep Time | Batza Room, Athenaeum
If human shortsightedness is the greatest threat to humanity, deep time thinking, a concept that refers to the entirety of geologic time, might be the antidote. The challenge is humans’ inability to conceive of deep time’s enormous time scales. In this class for alumnae/i, led by Professor Mary Marchand, we’ll explore recent attempts to visualize deep time.

Join us for a special historical tour of Goucher’s campus during reunion weekend, where we’ll explore the landmarks and stories that have shaped our college over the years. This guided tour will take you through iconic sites, sharing insights into Goucher’s evolution and the moments that defined its legacy. As a highlight, alumnae/i will have the unique opportunity to visit current student residence halls, gaining a glimpse into modern student life and seeing how today’s Gophers live and learn. Residence hall highlights include the First-Year Village (with some special gathering spaces highlighted), Mary Fisher, Welsh, and Sondheim. Don’t miss this chance to reconnect with Goucher’s rich history and the vibrant community it continues to foster.
11 a.m. to Noon | Take a Class at Goucher! Goucher’s Lost Museum: A Short History of Wonder | Batza Room, Athenaeum
Have you ever wondered what it is like to discover a Chamber of Wonders? This class explores the collection of art, artifacts, and natural history that once made up the Museum of the Woman’s College of Baltimore, a nationally recognized museum that was, once upon a time, the jewel in the crown of Goucher’s (formerly) downtown campus. Goucher’s diverse collection, which includes artifacts, art, and natural history such as ancient Egyptian mummies, specimens of flora and fauna, an articulated horse skeleton, glass flowers, Native American pottery, and Neo-Babylonian cuneiform tablets, was first amassed by Dr. Goucher in the 19th century, displayed at the Woman’s College of Baltimore (later Goucher College), and disassembled when Goucher’s campus moved from Baltimore City to its suburban campus in Towson in the early 20th century. Some works, including a signed print by Picasso, came to our collection in later years, thanks to the generosity of Goucher’s alumnae/i. In 2015, what remained of the collection—some 3,000 objects—was unpacked for the first time in nearly 80 years. What became of the contents of Goucher’s “Lost Museum”? Travel back in time with Professor April Oettinger, the chair of the Visual & Material Culture Program and the Barbara Beacham Cushing ’51 Distinguished Professor of the Humanities, for a behind-the-scenes peek at selected objects from Goucher’s Art and Artifact Collection and a discussion of the ongoing, student-led project to recover, research, catalog, exhibit, and preserve the contents of Goucher’s Lost Museum for future generations.

Revisit Campus Life: This light-hearted panel offers a nostalgic look at campus life, focusing on the evolution of dorm life, dining halls, and social events. Alumnae/i from across the decades and current students will share stories of traditions and the everyday experiences that made their time at Goucher unique. The cost is $16 per person and includes a buffet lunch.
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Class of 1975 Lunch | Pinkard Room, Athenaeum
Enjoy lunch with classmates and special guests. The cost is $30 per person and includes a buffet-style lunch.
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Lunch | Mary Fisher Dining Center
Enjoy a buffet lunch with alumnae/i in the student dining center. Lunch is $16.48 per person, payable at the door.
1:30 to 2:45 p.m. | Goucher Story Circles | Library in the Athenaeum, Third and Fourth Floors
At the Goucher Story Circle, alumnae/i gather in a cozy and intimate setting to share their favorite memories and stories from their time at Goucher. This storytelling circle is a space where voices and experiences from across generations intertwine, creating a rich tapestry of Goucher’s history and culture. Moderators will include AAGC members and/or staff or faculty. To ensure everyone has a chance to share their journeys, we will keep creating intimate groupings that allow for a rich variety of voices and experiences. We will inform you of your circle location at registration.

This discussion, facilitated by Art History Professor April Oettinger, is for members of the Class of ‘75, who will explore as a group where classmates are now in their lives, and what the future holds for them.

This discussion, facilitated by Sociology and Anthropology Professor Rory Turner, is for members of the Class of ‘70, who will explore as a group where classmates are now in their lives, and what the future holds for them.
1:30 to 2:30 p.m. | Interfaith Cafe | Chapel Undercroft, Haebler Memorial Chapel
Join students and our chaplain, Rev. Maeba Jonas, for Interfaith Café, our weekly gathering for exploring interfaith dialogue, education, contemplative practices, and meditative crafts. In honor of Alumnae/i Weekend, this week we will be exploring practices for building intergenerational community and engaging in fun dialogue-style learning.
3 to 3:45 p.m. | Remembrance Service | Haebler Memorial Chapel
Led by Chaplain Rev. Maeba Jonas and the Hillel Rabbinical intern, this service will honor the lives and memories of deceased classmates, faculty, and staff. The multifaith program is designed for alumnae/i of all years to create a sacred space and time together and is open to people of all faith and non-faith persuasions. All are welcome!
4 to 5:30 p.m. | Wines and Vines | Under the Tent, by the Athenaeum
Enjoy a natural wine tasting with husband and wife Matthew Pierce ’95 and Lane Harlan. A natural wine is made with the least possible use of chemicals, additives, and overly technological procedures, and vinified as naturally as possible. Lane and Matthew are the owners and creators of WC Harlan, Clavel Restaurant and Mezcaleria, Fadensonnen Wine Bar and Beergarden, Angels Ate Lemons Wine Shop, and the Coral Wig. There is no cost to attend, but preregistration is required. The seating capacity is 50 attendees.
4:30 to 6 p.m. | Shabbat Services | Lenrow Hillel Patio and Esther Ann Brown Adler Hillel Lounge, Heubeck Hall
Join Hillel students and Rabbi Josh Snyder for a wine and cheese reception from 4:30 to 5 p.m. in the Esther Ann Brown Adler Hillel Lounge in Heubeck Hall, followed by songful Shabbat services at 5 p.m. on the adjacent Ruth Shapiro Lenrow ’74 Hillel Patio.
5 to 7 p.m. | Gophers FORE Goucher: Welcome Home Kick-Off | Goucher Golf Simulator, Decker Sports and Recreation Center
Kick off the weekend with a “welcome back” event where attendees can mingle, catch up, meet new friends, and hit a few balls. The event includes a tour of the new golf simulators and putting and chipping room. Practice your short game and try out your skills with a friendly game and win prizes! Snacks and drinks will be provided. This event is open to all alumnae/i and guests. There is no cost to attend, but preregistration is strongly encouraged.
5:30 to 7 p.m. | Goucher Heritage, 140th Anniversary, and 175th Birthday Celebration! | Under the Tent, by the Athenaeum
Did you know Mary Fisher was born on March 22, 1850, and would be celebrating her
175th birthday? That calls for a rockin’ birthday party. Celebrate the legacy of Goucher
College with a special event where history and fun come together.
Join Professor Michael Curry of the Integrative Arts Studies and Theatre programs
for an engaging presentation on the rich history of Goucher College, exploring its
evolution and milestones throughout the years. Alumnae/i will have a chance to participate
in Goucher history trivia and win prizes throughout the evening.
The cost is $35 per person and includes a dinner buffet, two drink tickets, cash bar,
and special dessert.
Saturday, April 26

9:30 a.m. to Noon | Goucher Proud Open House | Athenaeum
Welcome to the Goucher Proud Open House! The open house will present an exciting lineup of diverse events and programs designed to celebrate our Goucher alumnae/i community! Whether you’re here to reconnect, learn, or simply enjoy the company of fellow alumnae/i, there’s something for everyone.
All these events are conveniently located within the same building, making it easy to explore everything Goucher has to offer. Whether you want to attend just one event or experience them all, this day is about celebrating what it means to be part of the Goucher family.

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Alberta Burke’s Bequest to Goucher | Collaborative
Humanities Exhibition Space, Library, Athenaeum, Fourth Floor
Students in the Jane Austen Archives Practicum, a course led by Professor Juliette
Wells, will display and discuss their work in progress on the first student-curated
exhibition about Alberta Burke 1928, a Goucher alumna and the founding donor of the college’s Jane Austen Collection.
The college received Alberta’s bequest in 1975.

Goucher College Makerspace, Room 422
In Fall 2024 the Goucher College Makerspace launched as a new hub of creativity and
innovation for students, faculty, and the broader campus community. The space houses
a collection of digital and physical fabrication tools, including multiple 3D printers
and scanners, laser and vinyl cutting machines, an electronics lab, and much more.
The Goucher Makerspace is designed to be a dynamic campus resource to support both formal classes and independent
student work and creativity outside of class.
10:50 to 11:50 a.m. | A Lively Mind: Jane Austen at 250 | Collaborative Humanities Exhibition Space, Library, Athenaeum, Fourth Floor
Professor Juliette Wells will offer a sneak preview of an upcoming exhibition at the
Morgan Library & Museum in New York City, for which she is the guest co-curator and
which will feature many loans from Goucher. A Lively Mind will run from June 6 to September 14.
Special Collections & Archives
Visit the Special Collections & Archives (fourth floor of the Athenaeum, opposite
the elevator) to view items relating to the incorporation of the Woman’s College of
Baltimore and its founder, John Franklin Goucher. The Archives will have original
documents and objects on display for guests to view.
“Through the Years: Goucher Alumnae/i Narratives,” Stories of the Past, Told by the
Present
Join us for this special oral history program, a unique event where current Goucher
students sit down with alumnae/i to capture their stories, experiences, and milestones
from their time on campus. These intimate interviews create an oral history of Goucher’s
rich legacy, highlighting personal reflections on student life, historical events,
and the evolution of the college. Be part of preserving and sharing these treasured
memories with future generations! (20-minute sessions)
The College Store & Photo Booth Station
The College Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Stop by to get an exclusive discount
on all Goucher swag. There will be a photo booth station and special appearances by
Rowdy throughout the morning!

Stop by the dorm of your choice to speak with a current student and peek into a room. Froelicher and Stimson are offline this year. The available dorms are the First-Year Village, Mary Fisher, Heubeck, Sondheim, and Welch.

Classes graduating from 1975 through 2024 are invited to join fellow alumnae/i to celebrate your shared Goucher experiences. Entertainment brought to you by the Goucher College Choir. The cost is $30 per person and includes a buffet-style lunch.
12:30 to 3 p.m. | Unofficial Goucher Reunion Softball and Kickball Games | Fiske Field
Open to all alumnae/i! Bring your Gopher competitive spirit (and your gloves) to join the classes of the early 1990s for an informal game of pick-up softball and kickball. There will also be casual lawn games and a potluck picnic gathering. Enjoy the activities or simply have fun cheering on your fellow grads.

Kick off the AAGC Annual Meeting with a burst of school spirit at the Goucher Alumnae/i Rally! Reignite your Goucher spirit with classic cheers and chants led by fellow alumnae/i and student leaders. Let’s make sure the Goucher energy is at its peak! Grab some Goucher swag—scarves, pom-poms, and pins—and show off your school colors with pride. Highlights include reunion year roll call, live music, trivia, and accolades.
Enjoy a performance by 1021 Hip-Hop Team, a Goucher student run hip-hop team who choreograph and perform their own routines at various on-campus events. There is no cost to attend this event, but preregistration is strongly encouraged.
2:30 to 3:15 p.m. | AAGC Annual Meeting | Hyman Forum, Athenaeum
Join fellow alumnae/i to vote on AAGC leadership, recognize top reunion volunteers, and honor the 2025 recipient of the Elizabeth Statuta Baker ’70 Public Service Award. We’ll also celebrate additional awards, highlight this year’s points of pride, and vote on the 2025 slate! There is no cost to attend this event, but preregistration is strongly encouraged.
3 to 5 p.m. | Men’s Soccer Alumni Game | Beldon Field
Alumni will play the current college team.
4 to 5:15 p.m. | Pilates Mat Class | Winslow Lawn (Rain location: Pilates Studio)
The Pilates Center at Goucher College has been open since 1997, offering private sessions
and group classes for the public and Goucher’s community. Join Director of the Pilates Center Stephanie Lawson ’06 for a Pilates mat class, as well as an introduction to the Pilates Center program.
Please dress comfortably, and we ask that you bring socks. Mats will be provided.
All participants should fill out our online health form beforehand.
There is no cost to attend this event, but preregistration is required. Class limited
to 20 participants.
4 to 5:15 p.m. | Beer Tasting Event | Alumnae/i House, Buchner Hall
Join homebrewers, beer lovers, Associate Professor Kevin Schultz, former Professor Bob Slocum, and Lab Instructor Lisa Gulian ’07 for a truly experiential beer tasting event. You’ll sample a variety of beers from local breweries across Maryland. These beer aficionados will highlight the terminology, ingredients, and brewing processes that make the beers unique. Registration is required; limited to 40 participants. There is no cost to attend this event, but preregistration is required as slots fill up quickly.
5:15 to 6 p.m. | Celebrating the Sciences! Retirement Celebration! | Buchner Patio
Directly following the beer tasting event, celebrate the retirement of two beloved professors, Judy Levine (biological sciences and chemistry) and Ruquia Ahmed-Schofield ’81 (chemistry), on the patio of the Alumnae/i House. Don’t miss this special opportunity to toast their contributions to Goucher and reconnect with fellow alumnae/i!
4 to 7 p.m. | Goucher for Life Block Party | Under the Tent, by the Athenaeum
Highlights include:

During the Goucher for Life Block Party, several class reunions and affinity groups
will host gatherings in dedicated areas near the main festivities. These spaces will
provide a semi-private spot to reconnect with classmates and fellow alumnae/i while

Reconnect with classmates at 6 p.m. for a hybrid mini reunion and dinner at 7 p.m. The cost is $50 per person and includes a dinner buffet.

Celebrate a milestone with the 50th reunion of Goucher’s Class of 1975!
This special gathering will be filled with memories, laughter, and reconnections,
as we look back on five decades since our time together on campus. This year, we are
also honored to extend an invitation to the Class of 1970, whose reunion was postponed
due to the pandemic. Together, we’ll reminisce, share stories, and create new memories
as we celebrate both the journeys we’ve taken and the bonds that keep us connected
to Goucher. Here’s to two incredible classes and one unforgettable reunion. Dinner is complimentary for alumnae and $50 for guests.

Families are encouraged to attend Saturday’s Alumnae/i Weekend events and participate in an open house program the next day, which includes a 10 a.m. information session and an 11 a.m. campus tour.
