Exhibit Dates

House Without Home a solo exhibition featuring Naomi Safran-Hon, will be presented at Goucher College’s Silber Art Gallery in the Sanford J. Ungar Athenaeum from Tuesday, January 26, through Sunday, April 3. This is Safran-Hon’s first solo show in the Baltimore area. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, can be viewed Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Artist Reception

An artist’s lecture will be held Wednesday, February 3, at 6 p.m. in Goucher’s Hyman Forum. An artist’s reception will immediately follow 7-9 p.m. Please note the gallery will be closed Monday, March 14, to Sunday, March 20, during spring break.

About the Exhibit

Naomi Safran-Hon grew up in Haifa, Israel, but resides in Brooklyn, NY. In this body of work, she investigates her relationship to Israel and its ongoing conflict, revealing the fragility of the human experience. House Without Home brings together 13 pieces that depict fragments of a house that don’t create a home. The paintings combine fabric, cement, pigment, acrylic, and photographs to tell the stories of these structures and their former inhabitants.
