New Student Orientation Schedule
New Student Orientation is January 26, 2025!
We are so excited you chose to attend Goucher for your college experience! Goucher College strives to foster a warm and inclusive environment for all students.
New Student Orientation is your steppingstone to get involved on campus. We want to
make the start of your semester as smooth as possible, so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Orientation Schedule
Each location listed on the schedule is denoted by its corresponding number on the campus map found on the back of the New Student Passport.
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | New Student Orientation Check-In | Lobby, Mary Fisher Hall & Dining Center (15)
All students will begin the orientation experience by checking in with the Office of Student Engagement staff. When you check-in, you will pick up your OneCard (student ID) and register your vehicle (if you have not yet done so).
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Brunch (optional) | Mary Fisher Hall & Dining Center (15)
Feel free to begin using your meal plan (i.e., eat in the dining hall) during this time. You will need your OneCard to access the Mary Fisher Dining Hall, and if you have guests with you, they can pay at the door. For those commuting to campus, please check in for orientation first, and we'll provide you with a meal ticket.
1 p.m. | Opening Welcome | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
President of Goucher College, Kent Devereaux, will officially welcome you to Goucher College and to campus!
1:15 p.m. | Understanding Academics at Goucher | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
Be a Goucher success story! Learn about what you need to know to succeed academically, and the resources available at each step of the way.
2 p.m. | Rules of the (Van Meter) Highway | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
Learn about relevant policies and procedures for living at Goucher, support outside the classroom and how to be your best advocate.
2:45 p.m. | Wellness Break | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
15 minute break
3 p.m. | Healthy Relationships at Goucher | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
Learn about resources and options related to sexual misconduct and nondiscrimination, including assisting in obtaining supportive measures.
4 p.m. | Educational Technology | Batza Room, Ungar Athenaeum (2)
Learn to navigate the most used websites and apps at the college.
5 p.m. | Dinner | Mary Fisher Hall & Dining Center (15)
Enjoy dinner with the Goucher Guides and meet new people! Remember to bring your OneCard. Dinner will be provided for students without a meal plan.
