Spring Housing Petitions

Greetings,

We recognize that the move to remote instruction and the decision not to offer campus housing may create additional hardships for students. Some of you are in unsafe housing situations, are experiencing housing insecurity, and/or are facing extraordinary circumstances that may render you unable to successfully engage in academic study in your home.

Given this, if you wish to be considered for the very limited number of campus housing spots for spring semester, please complete the housing petition form by Friday, January 15th at 5 p.m. (EST). This petition can be found on The Housing Director under "applications." Once submitted, a committee (including staff from the offices of the Dean of Students, Residential Life, Enrollment Management, and Financial Aid) will review your application and will determine if we are able to accommodate your request. We will do our best to provide housing for those who meet one or more of the stated criteria; however, eligibility does not guarantee on-campus housing, and changing circumstances may require additional restrictions.

For those who apply, the committee will inform you of their decision by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20th. If approved, the Office of Residential Life will contact you with your housing assignment, as well as information about your move-in day and time. All previously approved housing accommodations will be met for students who are granted housing in the spring.

Please note that campus dining options will be very limited. In addition, if you are approved for campus housing, you must follow all public health measures, such as wearing a face covering, following physical distancing guidelines, and observing limitations on campus space usage.
