Return to Campus Update
Dear Goucher Community,
I hope you had as much fun as I did celebrating Goucher College’s 2020 and 2021 classes last week with our two commencement ceremonies. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to properly acknowledge the many accomplishments of our graduates and to see so many familiar faces — albeit masked — back on campus.
Now, with the spring semester behind us, we turn our attention toward a re-opening of our campus this summer and preparing to welcome both our continuing students and Goucher’s new 2025 class to campus this fall.
As the first step in that process, I am very pleased to announce that as of June 1, we will once again open the Goucher College campus to the surrounding community.
We invite everyone to walk, run, or cycle on our beautiful grounds, enjoy our wooded trails, and even play tennis at our new Evelyn Dyke Schroedl ’61 Tennis Center outdoor facilities when not in use for College programs. Additionally, we will no longer require individuals to wear masks while on campus, outdoors, and physically distant from others.
All indoor facilities on campus will remain closed for the time being to anyone other than Goucher College faculty, staff, or students.
Also, as of June 1, we will no longer require fully vaccinated Goucher College faculty, staff, or students to wear masks on campus while either outdoors or indoors in meetings with other vaccinated individuals.
Our student testing plan has also been updated to reflect the latest CDC guidelines, and we will continue to adjust these policies as national guidelines evolve. We request that everyone continue to be active participants in following our health and safety guidelines and review the updated FAQs and COVID testing dashboard for the latest information.
We look forward to welcoming our local community back to campus next week and can’t wait to see all our students, faculty, and staff back on campus come this fall.
Until then, I wish you all a wonderful summer,
Kent
