Campus Indoor Mask Update
Dear Goucher Gophers,
The Goucher College COVID-19 Taskforce met earlier to review recent wastewater results, following our slight increase in cases last week. Unfortunately, we have received confirmation of several new cases as well. We have come so far in keeping the community healthy this year, but we need to focus on the end goal: getting through the last few weeks of the semester to allow our students to fully celebrate their many achievements.
For this reason, we are reinstating our masking policy for INDOORS only. Beginning at 12pm (noon) on Wednesday, April 27, we will require all faculty, staff, students, and outside guests to wear N-95, KN95, or KF94 face masks while indoors. KN95 masks are still available throughout campus at no cost to our community members in areas such as the Mary Fisher Dining, Sports & Recreation Center, and the Office of Residential Life in Heubeck. We would also encourage you to purchase additional masks, as needed, for your use.
While we appreciate the compliance of the Goucher community following protocols in the efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, we are concerned about the increase in cases, particularly as we head into the weeks of celebration to close out the semester. Acknowledging all of the progress made to keep our campus safe, we want to ensure a successful end to the year.
Please use the Covid-19 Policy Violation Reporting Form to submit concerns about any student, faculty, or staff members in the Goucher community who may not follow Goucher College COVID-19 policies. You can submit anonymously. Please provide enough information for us to follow up with your concern.
Faculty and staff concerns are forwarded to the Office of Human Resources. Concerns about students are sent to the Office of Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of Students and handled through the Student Accountability process.
We hope that by deciding to require masks indoors, we can ensure a healthy, successful conclusion to the semester and celebrate the many successes of our students together.
Thank you and be well,
COVID-19 Taskforce
