Wellness Reminder - COVID-19

Dear Goucher community,

Given that we just returned from spring break we are, as expected, seeing an increase in COVID-19 wastewater positivity. It is imperative that we follow recommended precautions to keep you and the Goucher community healthy.

Two of the most effective tools to keep you and others safe are vaccination and masking. Please mask where appropriate, avoiding crowded public spaces, and get your bivalent booster if you have not done so already. Please also be sure to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer, as appropriate.

If you are sick, please wear a mask, stay away from others as much as possible, and follow the guidance of your healthcare provider. Students can make an appointment in the Student Health Center (SHC) by emailing nurse@goucher.edu or calling 410-337-6050. If you do test positive for COVID-19, fill out the illness reporting form. The SHC will contact students who have tested positive to advise them of their isolation period and next steps. Human Resources will likewise do the same for all employees. The SHC will also notify the associate provost’s office of the dates a student will be out of class, and the associate provost will notify the student’s professors.

If you are exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please follow the CDC guidelines of masking for 10 days following the exposure and testing on day six.
