    Here at Goucher over winter break, we have continued to follow national and local trends as the coronavirus pandemic has played out. Unfortunately, the trendlines have not moved in our favor.

    As the year comes to a close, I offer a few final updates and a hearty note of gratitude. Few could have anticipated how this pandemic would alter our world, so I remain thankful for the creativity, resilience, resourcefulness, and ingenuity on display by so many within our community and that proved so vital to the successes we achieved this year.

    As we plan to bring students back to campus in the spring, we continue to update the Return to Campus website. We recently added new information to the Academic FAQs and are working on a comprehensive informational dashboard that will be added to the site in early January.

    Although the semester has come to an end, the Spring Reopening Task Force continues to meet weekly to prepare and plan how to welcome students back to campus. We also continue to update our Return to Campus website and recommend you check it regularly.

    Yesterday, the state of Maryland announced the launch of MD COVID Alert to quickly notify users who might have been exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid-19. To help reduce infections in Maryland, the state is asking those living in Maryland to enable MD COVID Alert push notifications on their iPhone or Android smartphones.
