Bill U'Ren is an Assistant Professor of Fiction Writing and Screenwriting within Goucher’s Creative Writing Program. Professor U’Ren is a veteran film adaptation specialist. He has published 40 short stories in magazines such as Chicago Review, Michigan Quarterly and The Minnesota Review, and his fiction has won Barthelme and Cambor Awards. His film adaptation work began in 1988 with Box 100 for Columbia Pictures. His most recent screenplay, 1296 Hits, earned an IFP No Borders Prize and is being produced by Diana Ossana (Brokeback Mountain) and Jeanne Yang of Anonymous Content. Professor U’Ren received a Master’s in Fiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University’s Writing Seminars.
