“My drawings are a pantry of memory-ingredients, and my studio is the kitchen combining them into print-dishes. The dishes aren't for me; I'm already making the next one. Repetition is the method.”
Ian Jackson
Adjunct ProfessorStudio Art
Acclaimed printmaker and artist Ian Jackson works and lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and daughter. Jackson is the founder and operator of Manual Feed Press, a printmaking studio where he collaborates with artists to produce limited editions of original art.
He also serves as the master printer at Ink Spot Press, a public-access printmaking workshop and gallery in the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood.
Jackson brings to the workshop his years of experience in the commercial printing industry, where he honed his craft printing textiles and fine stationery on an industrial scale.
In his own artwork, described by BmoreArt magazine as “luminous and haunting,” Jackson seeks a space where the familiar and mundane combine to articulate nothing more than the quiet invitation to be still and remember.
