Lana Oweidat
Associate ProfessorProfessional and Creative Writing
Lana Oweidat is Arsht Professor in Ethics and Leadership at Goucher College. She is also an associate professor and the director of the Writing Center. She completed her doctorate in rhetoric and composition and holds a graduate certificate in women, gender, and sexuality studies from Ohio University. In addition to serving as an associate director of composition and an assistant director of the student writing center at Ohio University, she taught a wide range of courses in English; women, gender, and sexuality studies; and the Honors Tutorial College. At Goucher, she teaches writing and rhetoric courses with an emphasis on social justice concerns. Her research focuses on transnational feminist rhetorics, anti-Islamophobia pedagogies, and tutor training. She is also interested in multilingual composition, especially in the linguistic and cultural negotiations of multilingual writers and teachers.
