Maureen Malomba

Assistant ProfessorBusiness Management

Maureen Malomba is a seasoned business development professional with over 20 years of experience in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors who has held senior leadership roles across East Africa. As a contemporary African researcher, her expertise spans strategic planning, women and leadership, leadership development, engaged partnership development, infrastructure fund development and management, and public policy development.

As an assistant professor of business, Maureen seamlessly intersects research with practical experience. Her unwavering advocacy for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals focuses on education, gender equality, climate justice, and fostering partnerships for the goals. Maureen’s leadership philosophy is deeply rooted in Ubuntu, an African leadership style emphasizing humility, compassion, humanity, and integrity. She champions collaborative and inclusive leadership approaches, embracing diversity and authenticity—guided by the principle that Ubuntu is about "we," not "me."

Outside her professional endeavors she finds joy in reading, traveling, cooking, and adrenaline sports like bungee jumping, and car racing. Passionate about advancing gender equity, she has founded scholarships and mentorship programs to support high school girls from underprivileged communities. She also serves on several nonprofit boards in the U.S. and abroad and frequently volunteers her expertise to empower organizations and individuals.
