Michael Curry

Michael Curry is a professor of Integrative Arts Studies and Theatre. He has served on the Goucher faculty for thirty-five years. Michael is one of the founding faculty members of the Integrative Arts Studies program where he teaches the introductory course (Creation and Meaning), Arts in the Community, and the Capstone Experience. Michael’s research interests include acting and directing, particularly classical plays, opera staging, first person historical interpretation, Maryland theatre history, and community arts advocacy. He produces ArtReach at Goucher, a podcast series celebrating the arts at Goucher (links available on the Integrative Arts Studies web page, and through Apple podcasts.)

He is the proud father of two grown sons, Zachary (Goucher Class 2009) and Ian, the father-in-law of Jamie Yellen (Goucher Class 2009) and the grandfather of Milo (4) and Lucy (1). He and Frances Ramos-Fontán, who teaches Spanish and runs the Latino Learning Center, married in August. He is also proud to be the stepfather to Julian, Briana and Monica (Goucher College Class of 2023).
