LecturerMusic
Samuel Burt is a Lecturer of Computer Music at Goucher College. He completed two masters in composition and computer music at the Peabody Institute. Prior to his arrival at Goucher in 2011, he taught computer music, music theory, and sight-singing at the Baltimore School for the Arts. At Goucher, he teaches a broad range of courses related to electronic music creation and history. He is a board member of the High Zero Foundation, organizing experimental music performances and the High Zero Festival. He composes orchestral, chamber, and electronic music. He builds and sells, internationally, wooden instruments called daxophones. He programs custom audio software for realizing concepts not easily produced in traditional music applications. He also runs free improvisation workshops.

Samuel Burt is currently working on a number of compositions for solo instrument and electronics. He also has an ongoing collaboration of software development with John Berndt to realize a form of music called Relabi.
