Why Study Education at Goucher?
The values and goals of the education studies major are to produce graduates prepared and competitive in their field: well-grounded in educational foundations with an interdisciplinary perspective that has a human and ethical focus, and with a perspective that a liberal arts college has the unique ability to provide. Goucher believes these goals are best achieved in an environment that responds to students both as individuals and as members of multiple groups. Education studies is committed to experiential learning on and off campus as well as abroad, requiring students to apply and extend what has been learned in the classroom and will support students in applying their knowledge in various ways.

What Will You Do?
For students who have a passion to study the discipline of education beyond the role of a classroom teacher, our interdisciplinary approach to an education studies degree will help develop students who think critically, solve complex problems, and pursue social justice issues related to education. Goucher College is ideally located to be able to access internships in federal agencies and national non-profit organizations. In addition, this program has a strong connection with the Goucher Graduate Programs in Education.
