Goucher Students Attend the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Psychology Conference
Two undergraduate psychology students, Kyle Levy ('17) and Randi Nehls ('17), who are part of Dr. Friedman-Wheeler's Coping Research Lab, presented a poster at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Psychology Conference held by Towson University.
The poster was entitled "Coloring for Grown Ups: Are There Benefits for Mindfulness & Mood?" The poster captured the research done in Dr. Friedman-Wheeler's lab about the effects of coloring on emotional state and state of mindfulness.
Excitingly, the poster was awarded the Best Poster prize at the conference!
The poster was coauthored by Sushma Chapagain ('18), Kari DeVault ('16), Michaela Finley ('17), Erik Lund ('16), Kristina McGraw ('16), Daisy Mitchell ('18), Anne Werkheiser ('18), Leena Mazid ('16), Alix Scherer ('17) and Dr. Freidman-Wheeler. The poster is now on display in the research lab hallway in the Center for Psychology, located on the ground floor of the Julia Rogers Building.
