During the first weekend of March, student members of research teams and Goucher professors traveled to New York City to attend the 2019 Eastern Psychological Association Conference.

Goucher Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Psychology Dr. Jennifer McCabe recently published two articles. Both center around the study of undergraduate education and student learning.

This year, Goucher students, faculty and staff released a revised version of the Campus Climate Survey. Dr. Rick Pringle, Dr. Janet Shope, Dr. Julie Chernov Hwang, and Lucia Perfetti-Clark were the central faculty and staff members who worked to revise and expand on the previous survey from 2016. Goucher students Margaret Ratrie, Sarojini Schutt, Joe Alston, Ivelisse Rivera, Anna Bloomfield, and Nia McQueenie served as research assistants on this project. These students offered input on potential effects of the survey on students and to ensure that the survey would be useful to Goucher students.

Earlier this month, a number of Goucher students and faculty traveled to Philadelphia to attend the 2018 Conference of the Eastern Psychological Association in Philadelphia. Goucher President José Bowen was also present, giving the Social Psychology Keynote Address, titled: Technology, The Liberal Arts and the New Learning Economy: Supporting Student Development.

Two of Goucher's Associate Professors in Psychology, Dr. Jennifer McCabe and Dr. Dara Friedman-Wheeler, recently published a chapter in a new E-Book titled Essays from E-xcellence in Teaching: 2017. The E-Book is a collection of essays, centered around various aspects of and strategies for teaching psychology, originally published in the Society for the Teaching of Psychology's PsychTeacher listserv, blog, and LinkedIn page.
