Goodbye, Julia Rogers
This Summer, the library will move to the Athenaeum and will be open to serve you in Fall 2009. Please join us this semester in honoring Julia Rogers and celebrating the Julia Rogers Library with special events, exhibits, and the opportunity to share your memories.
EVENTS:
Tuesday, February 17, 4 pm, "Building a Greater Goucher: The History of the Towson Campus," presented by Scott Davis '10, recipient of the first Sally Barnes Internship Award. See the website created for the presentation.
Thursday, March 26, 4 pm. College Librarian Nancy Magnuson and English professor Carol Pippen present "Jane and Julia: how Alberta and Henry Burke built one of the world's finest Jane Austen collections and gave it to Goucher College." Library Classroom.
Monday, April 6, 2-4:30 pm. First Goucher College Student Symposium, including the Julia Rogers Research Prize and the Digital Arts Showcase. Throughout the Library.
April 12-19, National Library Week. Check the library website in April for scheduled events.
Friday, May 1, 3 pm. "Good-bye Julia" party for all members of the class of '09. Soper Room in the library.
REUNION EVENTS:
Friday, April 24, 10 am - 4 pm. Special Collections Open House featuring Goucher Archives and other treasures from the collection. Lower Level in the library.
Sunday, April 26, 9 - 11 am. "Good-bye Julia" event hosted by the Friends of the Goucher College Library. Soper Room in the library.
