Governor Hogan and Comptroller Franchot Visit Goucher for “Governing Maryland Communities” Discussion
Goucher College hosted “Governing Maryland Communities: A Conversation with Governor Larry Hogan and Comptroller Peter Franchot.” The event featured questions generated, selected, and posed by Goucher students directly to Governor Hogan and Comptroller Franchot.
The March 14th event was hosted by Meera Balasubramanian ’19 and moderated by Surbhi Surbhi ’19, Ashley Aylward ’18 and Peter Cost ’18. Students asked questions that touched on a range of issues from education, transportation, gun reform, and bipartisan governing. Hundreds of Goucher students, faculty, staff, and trustees attended the event in the Hyman Forum of the Ungar Athenaeum.
"Governing Maryland Communities" was a part of the "Defining Community" Theme Semester at Goucher. Throughout the Spring semester, Goucher programming is exploring concepts, cultures, and practices of what it means to be in community.
