Goucher College receives multiple grants from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund
Over the past three months, Goucher has received three separate grants from the foundation totaling more than $65,000.
Goucher College is proud to announce renewed support from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund to support a range of initiatives at the liberal arts college. Over the past three months, Goucher has received three separate grants from the foundation totaling more than $65,000.
In December 2020, the college received more than $50,000 in matching funds towards the “Season of Giving” digital fundraising campaign. These matching grants inspired more than 500 people in the Goucher community to give throughout December 2020, raising an additional $185,000.
A portion of the duPont Fund grant and funds raised during the December giving campaign went to the Greater Goucher Fund (GGF). The GGF is Goucher’s unrestricted fund, which supports the college’s current priorities, all of which touch every aspect of campus and the college, including pandemic response, student life, scholarships, financial aid, faculty and staff development, academics, social responsibility, sustainability, and facilities.
In addition, the duPont Fund has also provided Goucher with a $15,000 planning grant for an initiative to provide student support services to first-generation college students from underserved populations and help those students successfully complete their bachelor’s degree.
The Jessie Ball duPont Fund is committed to creating communities of belonging and focuses on inclusive, accessible, equitable, and collaborative partnerships. The organization believes that everyone deserves access to a good education, quality health care, and opportunities to build wealth.
