Kendyl Walker, one of Goucher College’s pre-major advisors, has been accepted, as one of only 10 individuals worldwide, into the NACADA Emerging Leaders Program. NACADA is an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and students working to enhance student's educational development. NACADA promotes and supports quality academic advising in higher education institutions.
“I am super excited about the Emerging Leaders opportunity and am happy to learn more about how I can grow as an advising professional,” said Walker. “My personal goal is to encourage learning and progress. I believe that the Emerging Leaders program will help me meet that personal goal because the program supports an advisor’s progress and development.”
The Emerging Leaders Program allows NACADA members to be connected with an established member of NACADA and create leadership goals for professional development. In addition to the mentorship, Kendyl will also receive a $2,000 stipend to assist her with travel to regional, national, and international NACADA conferences.
