Goucher College unveils new strategic plan

The Goucher College Strategic Plan 2021-2025 is the culmination of a yearlong collaborative process focused solely on the betterment of the institution and the success of students, faculty, and staff. The plan’s theme, “Cultivating Global Changemakers,” captures the dynamics of this focus on interdisciplinary, global learning and a rigorous liberal arts education, hallmarks of a Goucher education.

“The Goucher College Strategic Plan 2021-2025 is a significant defining document that positions the college well for future success,” says Goucher College President Kent Devereaux. “The new strategic plan provides the connective thread that is woven throughout the new programs, new partnerships, and new capital investments we will make over the next five years.”

Grounded in Goucher’s mission and vision and our deep commitment to social justice, the strategic plan sets forth an ambitious agenda for students, the community, and the institution in future years. The strategic plan is anchored in three pillars—Our Programs, Our People, Our Resources—with a focus on enhancing student success, expanding global education, emphasizing inclusivity, and ensuring that the college continues to maintain its solid financial position. In addition, the plan includes specific, measurable five-year goals for each objective.

The upcoming campus master plan will be a physical representation of this strategic plan. It will incorporate many of the themes—greater accessibility, sustainability, and connectivity to the community—that are included in the strategic plan.
