Goucher College announces first partnership with international institution

This multi-faceted partnership builds on Goucher’s long-standing commitment to providing students with an integrated global education.

Goucher College and Tashkent International University (TIU) have partnered to offer international students the opportunity to earn a Goucher College degree through 2+2 and 1+3 academic degree pathways. This multi-faceted partnership builds on Goucher’s long-standing commitment to providing students with an integrated global education. It is the first articulation partnership Goucher has launched with an international institution. TIU is located in Uzbekistan, and scholarships are available to qualified students.

“By establishing innovative educational pathways that transcend physical boundaries, we are providing relevant academic experiences and fostering the cultural competencies and international perspectives necessary to confront the challenges of tomorrow,” said Michael Marshall, vice president for enrollment and student success at Goucher College. “This unique partnership is a part of our larger strategy to build even stronger connections with higher education institutions across various continents, reflecting our steadfast commitment to inspiring global changemakers.”

In the 2+2 program, students will complete their first two years of study at TIU, focusing on foundational coursework in key disciplines. Upon fulfilling these academic requirements at TIU, qualified students will transition to complete the remaining academic requirements of their undergraduate baccalaureate degree at Goucher. In the 1+3 program, students will complete one year of study at TIU before applying to Goucher to complete their remaining three years of undergraduate education. These program pathways are available in business management, computer science, and economics majors.

"We are excited to launch this partnership with Goucher College, creating new academic pathways in business management, computer science, and economics,” said Dr. Jun Yong Wook, TIU rector. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to global learning and student success, and we look forward to building a strong and impactful relationship."

With international students from more than 40 countries and 100% of students studying abroad, Goucher’s innovative curriculum allows students to study across borders, cultures, and values. Goucher has welcomed international students for more than 125 years and continues to prepare students with a global advantage to support their success.
