Scholarship Information
Goucher provides both merit and need-based scholarship support. And you are automatically eligible for some scholarships just by applying to Goucher; no extra forms or essays. Browse the scholarships below for more information.
Merit Scholarships
All students who apply along with their official high school transcript, are automatically considered for merit scholarship if admitted.
Test scores are not required for consideration. To maintain a scholarship, students must be in good academic standing. They are renewable and awarded up to eight semesters.
Maryland Scholars
As a Maryland Scholar, a Goucher education is made accessible to eligible first-generation Maryland residents from historically underrepresented populations.

Maryland ScholarsDance Scholarships
Our Dance Scholarships are awarded based on submission of a dance scholarship application, an audition (either in-person, video recording, or at Dancewave)*, and the recommendation of the Dance faculty. All first-year applicants planning to major in dance are eligible to audition.
These annual scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000, with a potential value totaling a maximum of $4,000 to $40,000, and are awarded in addition to any other merit scholarship for which the student qualifies. (Scholarships cannot be combined with a Tuition Exchange or a Tuition Remission benefit from Goucher College.)
Dance scholarships are renewed automatically each year provided students maintain
full-time enrollment as a dance major in good academic standing until graduation or
a maximum of eight semesters, whichever comes first.
Audition Options – All First-Year Applicants
The Dance faculty believes it is most advantageous to meet you in person for your audition. It not only provides an opportunity for us to meet you but for you to meet us by taking classes with the dance faculty, having lunch with current Goucher dancers, and touring the campus.
We certainly understand it might not be possible for everyone to make it to campus. If you cannot attend the audition on campus, we do provide a video submission option.
- In-person audition will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025
In-Person Scholarship Audition Guidelines and Sample Schedule (PDF) - Video audition submissions are due by Wednesday, January 29, 2025
Dance Scholarship Video Audition Guidelines (PDF) - Davewave Auditionees do not need to re-audition but must apply to Goucher and complete the scholarship application to be eligible.
To be considered for a dance scholarship, all applicants must:
- Apply to Goucher College by completing the Common Application by January 15, 2025.
- Complete the Dance Scholarship Application by January 15, 2025. (Please Note: Within the Dance Scholarship application, you will be asked to confirm
your audition type: in-person, video, or at Dancewave.)
- Complete the Audition (either in-person, via video submission, or at Dancewave)
- All applicants who audition will be contacted via email with scholarship results in late February.
