Campus Access & Transportation

Campus Accessibility

Students who use mobility aids such as electric scooters, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, etc., are advised to research the most accessible route for their needs to get to and from class. This campus map (PDF) showing accessible entrances will help in this process. In case of snow, it may be important for a travel path to be cleared in advance so you have access to classrooms and other facilities on campus. To be assured of timely snow removal, contact the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) to discuss your specific needs before the risks of inclement winter weather.

Please bring to the attention of OAS any locations on campus with accessibility concerns. With adequate notice, OAS can arrange to schedule and/or move an event or class to a location that is more suitable.

If you encounter any difficulties accessing buildings or facilities, please report the problem using the Barrier Report Form.

Off-campus Transportation

The free Towson Loop shuttle runs around Towson.

The Maryland Transit Authority's bus, light rail, and metro systems are all wheelchair-accessible. For more information, check the MTA's accessibility website.

The free Charm City Circulator is also fully accessible, and runs several routes around major attractions and shopping districts in Baltimore City.

Parking

Personal vehicles are permitted on Goucher’s campus for all students.

Goucher College provides accessible parking on campus for persons with disabilities. Students requiring the use of such spaces must have a state-issued parking placard as well as the appropriate Goucher College parking permit. The appropriate Goucher College parking permit must be displayed along with the state-issued parking accessibility placard.

Goucher College is not authorized to issue parking accessibility placards. Whether permanent or temporary, all accessibility placards must be obtained through the student's state of residence.
