Medical/Compassionate Withdrawal Procedures
Students who have a medical or another type of personal emergency during the semester and need to withdraw must make an appointment with the Dean of Students. Detailed information about the medical and compassionate withdrawal process, as well as the requirements for returning to the college after such a withdrawal, can be found in the college's Medical/Compassionate Withdrawal Policy (PDF).
Medical/compassionate withdrawals must be submitted to the Dean of Students by the last day of the semester. If the student leaves the college for other reasons or without obtaining approval from the Dean of Student, the student receives the earned letter grades.
Students must submit their request Semester Withdrawal form for voluntary medical or compassionate withdrawal through Goucher's online system here.
Students who do not intend to return the next semester after a semester withdrawal must complete a leave-of-absence form and follow leave of absence procedures.
Students who intend to withdraw permanently from the college after a semester withdrawal should complete the Official Withdrawal from the College form and follow withdrawal procedures.
