The CMS Interface
Modern Campus CMS (Content Management System) features a modern, intuitive interface that makes it easy for users of all skill levels to add and edit content.
CMS UI Overview
Below are the main areas of the CMS interface that you’ll use most frequently. If you would like to edit a region of the template but don't have access, submit your updates using our project request form.
Global Navigation Bar
The global navigation bar allows you to move through different areas of the CMS.

File Name & Extension
The file name displayed at the top of the page shows which file you are currently working on. If you’ve made changes but haven’t published them yet, an "Unpublished Changes" flag will appear next to the file name. Webpages in the CMS are represented as .pcf files.

Tabs/Page Actions Toolbar
This toolbar provides different ways to interact with a page:
-
Preview—see how the page will look when published.
-
Edit—enter edit mode to modify content.
-
Properties—view a log of activity on the current page and set email reminders for future changes.
-
Versions—access past versions of the page and restore a previous version if needed.

Check In/Check Out
To edit a page, you must first check it out by clicking the lightbulb icon at the top right.
-
White lightbulb—the page is available for editing.
-
Yellow lightbulb—the page is checked out to you.
-
Red lock—another user is editing the page.
You can also check out a page by clicking an editable region (see below). Only one person can edit a page at a time, so be sure to check in the page (or turn off the light) when you’re done to make it available to others.
If you need to edit a page that's locked or checked out to another user, contact that person or the web team to check in the page or unlock it.

Editable Regions
Editable sections of a page are marked by green buttons. Click on these buttons to open up the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor for that section. The editing options for the WYSIWYG editor are similar to common word processing applications.
For more details on editable and non-editable areas, as well as available content modules, visit the Templates and Modules section.
