Early Nineteenth Century Ballroom Dances 1800-1814
Chorégraphie Antique recreates an early nineteenth century ball complete with the
languages of the fan, gloves and parasols. The dances on this program are introduced
in first-person interpretation in a concert format and\or lecture demonstration format
with audience participation. Dances included are Waltzes, Cotillions, Reels, Jigs,
Strathspeys, Irish Lilts, and Country Dances accompanied by The Splendid Shilling
Consort. Both concert and lecture-demonstration programs may be performed with The
Splendid Shilling Consort or with music.
